Summit Racing Returns to Pro Mod Competition with Kenny Lang

Officials from Summit Racing Equipment announced (March 9th) the company’s sponsorship of two-time IHRA Pro Modified champion Kenny Lang in NHRA’s Get Screened America Pro Mod Drag Racing Series today.

Beginning with last weekend’s Tire Kingdom NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, Florida, the Canadian racer will be sporting Summit Racing’s distinctive paint scheme on his 1969 Camaro.

Lang Clinches ProMod Second Championship

Steady rain throughout the morning and dew during the late evening hours made for a crazy afternoon and left plenty of racing still on the plate after two days of racing at the IHRA World Finals Saturday at Rockingham Dragway. Kenny Lang topped Pro Modified after making a single pass on Friday. With the chart topping lap Lang was able to seal the championship.

Lang Acceler-Eights Closer To Pro Mod Title

With the 2009 IHRA Nitro Jam season down to a single, highly critical event, professional teams are gearing up for the winner-take-all World Finals at North Carolina’s Rockingham Dragway.

The battles in Top Fuel and Pro Modified are all but wrapped up, with rookie Del Cox Jr. and defending class champ Kenny Lang respectively looking to walk away with championship gold. Cox has a 74-point lead over 2007 champion Bruce Litton, while Lang has held off Ed Hoover all season, and goes into Rockingham 132 points to the good.
